What to Eat on Epic Roasthouse’s New Lunch Menu, Starring the ‘Explosion Burger’

It’s almost lunchtime, and tomorrow at this time you’ll have a new option down on the Embarcadero: Epic Roasthouse. The Pat Kuleto-owned, meat-focused restaurant on the water is reinstating lunch service starting August 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and continue to do so Wednesday through Friday every week. You can check out the full menu below, but we’d like to call your attention to a new spin that chef Jan Birnbaum is putting on his already stellar burger (which made our best burgers list). It’s being called the Explosion Burger ($20), and that’s because you now have the option of having it come stuffed with cheese in its melty center — either aged cheddar or Morbier.

Also, note the equally beefy smoked beef brisket sandwich. And for those trying to be good and not get tipsy at lunch, there are now two non-alcoholic cocktail options.

And for those looking to dine outside as San Francisco’s summer kicks off next month, Epic Roasthouse’s patio is getting a new canopy — which will also come in handy in the event of a sudden rain.
