Here’s a rare chance for Francophiles to dine on the food of two legendary French chefs— and help the No Kid Hungry initiative of Share Our Strength. Pastry chef and chocolatier Chef Jacques Torres will make a rare visit to Chicago to cook with his friend Chef Jean Joho of Everest at a multi-course meal that will also include auction items like dinner for six at Everest, dinner for two at Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas, a reception at Paris Club, and a tour and chocolate-making class at Jacques Torres Chocolate Factory, given by the chef himself. The dinner is $500 per person, with table hosting opportunities; it’s September 19 with reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7. It’s Chef Joho’s first time hosting a Share Our Strength dinner, which he plans to make an annual event; as Chef Torres says, “As a chef, spending so much time cooking for others, food and nutrition are near and dear to my heart. I believe no child should live with the stress of hunger and support the No Kid Hungry Campaign so children across the country will have access to the nutritious meals they need.” To make a reservation call 202-478-6528 or go here.
