Check, Please! Bay Area, as we’ve mentioned, is one of our favorite shows. It’s now in its seventh season, and SFist has a funny top-five list of reasons why it’s so wonderful, such as the requisite “Mom from Corte Madera tell[ing] the chilling tale of venturing to a soul food joint in the Bayview,” or “The engineer. There is always an engineer.” But of course it’s the always cheerful and sassy host Leslie Sbrocco who keeps us coming back for more, and you can meet her and the show’s crew on September 14 at the SoMa Streat Food Park, where they’ll be shooting a show about peoples’ favorite street food experiences.
