The Cambridge Serves a ‘Real Winner’; Turkish Hot Dogs at Fulya Are ‘Hard to Resist’

• Phyllis Stein-Novack wastes no time getting over to the just opened South Street spot The Cambridge. There she, Edward and sister Sandy order up some beers and settle in with housemade pierogies, stuffed Anaheim peppers and a grilled peach and pecan salad. The pierogies came stuffed with “strands of tender short rib,” which she said “blended well” with the creamy potato filling. The stuffed Anaheim peppers were “outrageously tasty,” and the salad was “one fine combination.” Round two consisted of burgers that were “juicy and perfectly seasoned,” and fish and chips that were a “real winner.” [South Philly Review]

• For the Courier-Post, Adam Erace sizes up the Queen Village Turkish spot Cafe Fulya, where his meal got off on a “rough beginning” with a mucver “gone limp beneath a flow of tangy yogurt.” The “hard to resist” Turkish hot dog, and a summer salad were improvements. A quesadilla (aka gozleme) proved “simple, crunchy, gooey, tasty.” [Courier-Post]
