After local fisherman near Genoa turned up jars in their nets and tipped off authorities, divers found a Roman trading ship “hidden under layers of mud on the seabed, which has left the wreck and its cargo intact,” according to Discovery. Among the cargo: “pickled fish, grain, wine, and oil.” The ship itself is thought to be from some time between the first century B.C. and the first century A.D. It’s a cool find, but we’d probably let someone else try the fish before digging in. [Discovery]
