The Globe ran a big story yesterday about how Southie is becoming a reality-TV parody not unlike, well, New Jersey. Plus it’s gentrifying, making original Southie residents feel wicked upset. Luckily, though, a slice of the old Southie remains. … on Craigslist, anyway.
A mystery bar is on the lookout for new staffers. They write: “We are looking for a motivated, professional, and simply a ‘Bad Ass’ person to fill a couple shifts behind our bar. Experience not necessary, but always a plus. Required shifts are Friday night, and Sunday brunch, with other various shifts available.”
The ad suggests that people apply at 149 P Street, which just so happens to be the address of Local 149, a decidedly swank addition to the neighborhood. Maybe they’re trying to toughen things up? That couscous-dressed salmon is pretty tough.
