Well, so much for the doubts about whether people in the South Loop would go for an upscale restaurant. Since its opening, Acadia has not only been a success, chef Ryan McCaskey has seen more and more demand for fine dining— and he’s out to fill it. The new summer menus being introduced over the next week will still cover the gamut— the new bar menu, coming this weekend, will remain very reasonably priced. But not only are the new menu dishes more daring and artistic, but McCaskey is introducing a tasting menu, which he aims to keep completely separate from the regular menu. It’s his bid to compete at the top level, and at least by the look of it, it’s ready for the competition.
