Tonight one of Grub’s favorite Philadelphians and the acknowledged Godfather of Gangsta Rap, Schoolly D, is bringing his grooves to Alla Spina to help the Vetri gastro-funhouse kick off its new Thursday DJ nights. The “P.S.K. What Does It Mean” rapper and Adult Swim voice actor will begin spinning what he refers to as “truschool” — southern soul, progressive funk and dance music — at 10 p.m. and keep it going until 1 a.m. The Alla Spina crew will have a special late-night happy hour menu available too.
