Four Forthcoming Restaurants Joining Plate By Plate, August 4 in Downtown

We’re looking at the line-up for Plate By Plate, the annual tasting event that serves as a fundraiser for Asian-American awareness group Project by Project, and it’s another doozy that finds a solid showing of established restaurants joining up with a few heavily anticipated new expansions and maybe even an appearance from the state’s newly forbidden delicacy. Among the 40 restaurants and bars that will be offering tastings on August 4th at Saint Vibiana’s Cathedral are yet-to-debut restaurants like Michael Cimarusti’s Connie & Ted’s, Neal Fraser’s Fritzi Dog, Keith Silverton’s forthcoming Mess Hall concept, and Walter Manzke’s Republique**, who will join scene stalwarts like Scarpetta, Lazy Ox, Picca, Milo & Olive, Rivera, Jar, Guelaguetza, and The Royce, among many others in offering tastes of their dishes. What else can you expect?

Organizers hint that one of our more adrift, outlaw chefs will be preparing two courses of foie gras at the event, which must be totally, completely legal, as he won’t be selling it so much as giving it away. In addition to all the food, Plate by Plate will also ask Marcel Vigneron to engage in some sort of Quickfire Challenge, while a San Germain cocktail competition is planned between bartenders at City Tavern, Library Bar, and Pour Vous, all for VIPS.

Tickets for the 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. event are priced at $150 per person general admission and $250 for VIP which includes several extra activities and an extra hour of eating.
