Mastering the Art of Julia Child Restaurant Week

If you’ve never had the urge to go all Julie & Julia and get elbows-deep in aspic, it’s still possible to try some of the doyenne of French cooking’s most famous recipes, at next week’s Julia Child Restaurant Week. Six NYC eateries are taking part in the event (running August 7 to 11), which celebrates what would’ve been Child’s 100th birthday this year. Over at Union Square Café, enjoy a full Julia-centric menu that starts with mussels and herb mayo and ends with peach tarte tatin; Buvette has the famous coq au vin; Marea’s offering her lobster thermidor; Aureole has pâté de campagne at lunchtime; and Madison Bistro and Jeanne & Gaston are offering a prix fixe featuring stuffed morels. Check Facebook for the more info. Bon Appétiiit!
