Last year, Lucali owner Mark Iacano was stabbed and almost died outside Joe’s Superette, a musty old Italian deli on Smith Street known for its cast of characters, cold cuts, and legendary prosciutto balls. The 50-year-old deli closed the following month. One year on, Iacano was back to making pizzas and the prosciutto balls were discovered basking on Prince Street, but the old Joe’s space remained unoccupied — until now: Pardon Me For Asking reports a Greek restaurant with seats and takeout is in the works. The new restaurant will have outdoor seating and its owners are aiming for a mid-August. [Pardon Me For Asking]
