According to a Palms manager, there’s been a division in the previous partnership once behind the Westside’s Korean business, Tofu Ya, leaving the Sawtelle shop in the hands of one owner and the National Boulevard all-you-can-eat barbecue spot in the hands of the other. To avoid customer confusion and/or owner ire, the Palms-based restaurant changed its name to Galbi King on Sunday, a much more recognizable name for Korean barbecue in the first place, at least as far as the aforementioned western demographic goes. Everything else, from the menu of Black Angus brisket and soon tofu to the look of the place, will remain the same.

Galbi King, 11267 National Blvd. Palms. 310-477-6075.
