A former Russian Hill firehouse at 1648 Pacific Avenue that has stood empty for over 30 years is now getting some new life under the name of Firehouse 8. The building, which is San Francisco Landmark No. 188, is becoming a multi-level event space with a retail and café component, and the owners, Teresa Nittolo and Gavin Jefferies, have just applied for a beer and wine license as well. They recently hosted a film screening for the Future Shorts Festival, and they’re planning a soft opening for the space in the next couple of weeks, for which they’re still seeking artists and pop-up vendors to participate. Interested parties should email Teresa here. [Grub Street] Update: The Scoop adds that they are looking for an operator for a 1,000-square-foot restaurant space on the ground floor. [Scoop]
