Back in May, Grub Street broke the news that John McDonald and Josh Pickard had taken over the former Scuderia space at 257 Sixth Avenue with plans to open a Mexican restaurant. Today, we learn the restaurant has a name: El Toro Blanco. ETB, which plans to play up the tequila and de-emphasize the tacos (à la Empellon Cocina), will open in September, with mucho-fun-o Josh Capon overseeing the kitchen. [NYT]
