This Friday, from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Union Station, health care non-profit AltaMed is reprising its tasting event “East L.A. Meets Napa.” An annual favorite of Angeleno eaters, the evening doesn’t involve the same selection of hip restaurants that usually rally at such things. Instead, the event rallies some of East L.A.’s most iconic restaurants and chefs with legendary Latin restaurants from the whole of L.A. and Latino-owned wineries from Napa and Sonoma. Participating restaurants include Rocio’s Moles del Dioses, El Tepeyac, La Casita Mexicana, Tacos Baja Ensenada, Cook’s Tortas, Moles la Tia, Cacao Mexicatessen, La Parilla, La Huasteca, Loteria, and Porto’s, among the many, with tickets available online. All proceeds from the $200 ticket go to AltaMed. Check out photos from last year’s event right here.
