Ah, but the catch is… buying dinner involves winning the auction for a place at the special Three Floyds Dark Lord Beer Dinner at Publican Quality Meats on Thursday, July 19. Bidding starts at $300 here, but hey, here’s what you get: “5 vintages and 2 variants of 3 Floyds Dark Lord beer will be on accompanied by a multi-course meal, paired and created by David Posey of Blackbird, Koren Grieveson of Avec, Justin Large of Big Star, Erling Wu-Bower of the Publican and Cosmo Goss of Publican Quality Meats. Ticket includes 1 hour beer reception and hors d’oeuvres, multi-course dinner with Dark Lord Pairings, and a signed Tony Fitzpatrick print.” The beers, incidentally, were donated because the proceeds go to Inspiration Corporation, which trains people for hospitality jobs. It’s limited to 10 seats and the auction ends sometime Thursday, so get over there and bid now!
While you’re at it, here’s another benefit this weekend for another non-profit— The Association House, which has been providing social services in Humboldt Park for over a century. It’s a pig roast and this one is a mere $40 per person for unlimited pig plus beer, games and raffles, Saturday at El Cid. Go here and follow the links for Pig Out at the House.
