In addition to the seven picks we offered readers to don their berets at in celebration of Bastille Day tomorrow, we see this Saturday shaping up to be one of ever-increasing joviality, with a few more parties, and plenty of attached deals, planned. West L.A.’s brat and beer spot, Bru Haus, will celebrate its first birthday tomorrow with a party open to the public at nine, featuring three-dollar flutes and ten-dollar bottles of Champagne, with two-dollar draft beers, cocktail deals, and half-priced pretzels and pomme frites. Further east, we also hear of two more Bastille Day jams going down at two of the city’s newer restaurants.
West Hollywood’s Third Street Station will mark the occasion by selling Alsace-born Kronenbourg 1664, a major label for any frogs turn forsaking wine, at just three dollars a pop through the day and night.
In Downtown, new Industriel is digging deeper than discounts by adding absinthe fountains to its front lounge to offer guests free samples of “The Green Fairy” from Alameda-based St. George Spirits. Inside the kitchen, chef Joseph Antonishek is working on loup de mer with roasted corn and gremolata and pastry chef Meadow Ramsey is preparing creme caramel, both the be served a la carte from the menu.
