Beer Me

Introducing Beer Lands, the Latest Boozy Addition to Outside Lands

There will be so much to drink and eat, there will be barely enough time to hear music.
There will be so much to drink and eat, there will be barely enough time to hear music.

This year’s Outside Lands (August 10 to 12) is not only going to have the usual Wine Lands tent with over 30 local wines (as well as a whole booth devoted to the wines of Portugal curated by Jardinière sommelier Eugenio Jardim and newly minted master sommelier Gillian Ballance), there will be a Beer Lands too! The new beer garden will feature 30 beers from sixteen California brewers, curated by Magnolia Brewery’s Dave McLean. McLean says his passion for Northern California beer actually began in the parking lots of Grateful Dead concerts, and so he was glad to collaborate with the music festival on creating the beer lineup.

Also, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. created a beer especially for the occasion: Outside Lands Saison. Brewer Terence Sullivan loves the festival and will be premiering the beer for the first time at Beer Lands.

Below, the roster of breweries taking part, and also note that the already intense food lineup will include the Del Popolo and Seoul on Wheels trucks this year.

Don’t forget: Food is the new rock.
