If you follow Alinea at all you’ve probably heard the name of Martin Kastner, whose workshop Crucial Detail produces many of the unique serving pieces for Grant Achatz’s restaurants. You may not know that you can actually buy some of Kastner’s pieces, and considering their level of artisanship and cachet, they’re often shockingly reasonable, if you’re the kind of person who would think it was cool to stick your canapes on bobbing bits of wire for a party. Anyway, the Next Facebook page alerted us to the fact that Kastner is displaying some of his new pieces for upcoming dishes at Alinea right now, though you’ll kind of have to guess which ones they are.
