A-Frame Introduces AYCE Fried Chicken, Starting July 14

It’s National Fried Chicken Day today, have you called your mom yet? Soon to enter L.A.’s battleground of golden birds, one thick with major players like Plan Check, Farmshop, Flossie’s, and Eva, will be Roy Choi, who has been tweaking his own recipe in anticipation of A-Frame’s all-you-can-eat fried chicken picnic. Starting July 14 and continuing every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3:00 P.M. thereafter, the chef and his kitchen will prepare an endless parade of buttermilk fried chicken thighs and legs cooked sous vide in Colonel Choi’s secret blend of herbs, spices, and chilies, along with sweet potato salad and coleslaw of cabbage and zucchini, all priced at eighteen bucks with the option of bottomless Hite lager for an extra $10.

The picnic option will be offered alongside A-Frame’s usual lunch menu, where Choi recalls the days “where cast iron pans filled my life” during time spent in Roanake, Virginia and Atlanta, reminding everyone that A-Frame is indeed an old pancake house (an “International” one at that!). See Choi’s full fried chicken picnic menu below.
