Tattooed Mom’s wants you to bring on the heat to help them welcome summer. The South Street watering hole is putting out a call for hot sauce makers to enter its first ever Hotter Than Hell Homemade Hot Sauce Hoe Down. It takes place on Tuesday, June 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Its open to 20 contestants, and the only stipulation is that they bring along a enough of their homemade hot-stuff to properly melt the faces off the panel of judges they’ve assembled. They include Interstate Draft House and onetime Top Chef cheftestant Jen Zavala, Barcade chef Collin Thompson, South Street Tattoo artist and avowed hot sauce junkie Tony Baris, and T-Moms’ main man Chubb Rock. Cookie Confidential, Beautiful World Syndicate, The Bottle Shop, Brave New World Comics and other local businesses are pitching in with prizes for the winners. Dollar tacos (beef and veggie), half price drafts, and $3 Tecates will be on offer throughout the evening to help put out those fires.
