At wine-focused San Mateo restaurant Viognier, beverage director and general manager Nichole Dishman (wife of executive chef Preston Dishman) just passed her Advanced Certification exam, and is on her way to becoming one of less than twenty female master sommeliers in the country. In addition to her duties at the restaurant, Nichole also makes her own Syrah at Sonoma Solstice Vineyards.

At Atelier Crenn, sommelier Ian Burrows has just joined the team. Burrows also recently passed the advanced exam from the Court of Master Sommeliers, and he comes to the restaurant after years abroad in England, Scotland, Australia and France.
