We need something like the cocktail in this video— brightly colored, refreshing, and delivered by someone like Lynn House— to round out this day. As Paul Leddy says, besides her fearsome mixology skills, “She has one of the best laughs you will ever hear from a Chicago bartender. If you are still in a bad mood after hearing it, then you live in a cold, cold world.” In the latest installment of Leddy’s Chicago Cocktail Chronicles (which has a new non-Blogspot URL here), the Blackbird mixologist combines strawberries and mint (from her own garden) with Buffalo Trace Bourbon and a few other things to make a cocktail of a color you just want to grab a canoe and paddle in.
