What to Eat For Brunch at Post & Beam

Last week, L.A. Weekly’s new restaurant critic Besha Rodell mentioned that she’d be enthused to see some bold new directions seizing Govind Armstrong’s Post & Beam. We’re not sure this is what she means per se, but next weekend, the Baldwin Hills gastro-pub is launching a new Sunday brunch menu, and this weekend will feature a new surf-n’-turf special of sirloin and Maine lobster tail with sweet corn, stewed onion puree, and roasted baby carrots. What will you find on the new brunch menu?

Brunch kicks off on June 24 with a selection of hearty, down-home dishes like fried egg sandwiches with roasted peppers and shaved pork loin, buttermilk biscuits with sausage and gravy, wood-oven baked buttermilk pancakes, and soft shell crab with bacon grits and shellfish butter, as well as Cali-friendly servings of burrata with shaved fennel, peaches, and almonds, grapefruit brulee, mushroom scramble with goat cheese, and huevos “Rosalia” with black-eyed pea smoked bacon stew.

We’re also very pleased to announce there’s booze at this breakfast, in the form of ginger mojitos, cantaloupe martinis, and jalapeno-infused bloody Marys, using produce from the restaurant’s own Crenshaw Plaza-bound garden.
