A new group of vociferous restaurateurs, hoteliers, and hospitality hotshots have joined forces (and funds) to form the New York City Hospitality Alliance, a lobbying group aimed at city regulatory agencies. Leaders include: Drew Nieporent, Stephen Hanson, Herb Wetanson (owner of Dallas BBQ), Jeffrey Bank (Carmine’s), and more. This clique is not to be confused with the New York State Restaurant Association — who’s V.P is an unimpressed-sounding Marc Murphy. [NYT]
