Though Pennsylvania’s liquor stores squeaked by, by the proverbial seat of its pants this week, the LCB’s top brass may not be so lucky. In the wake of recent reports that shed light on the inner-workings of the organization and the alleged abuse of power and influence by its top ranking officials, Governor Tom Corbett has signaled that he’s ready to give the booze board’s CEO Joe Conti the boot. The Morning Call‘s Capital Ideas reports that in addition to showing Conti the door, the Governor also wants to eliminate his position. In order to do so, he needs the support of two of the board’s appointees. He already has one in LCB Chairman Skip Brion. Where will he get the other? He hopes to add another appointee this fall.
