This just in from hospitality design firm Spacecraft: Kristofer Keith is lending his Thor-like hammer to a new Hollywood project called Gardner Junction, placed believe it or not, at the junction of Gardner and Sunset, where Rainforest Hookah Cafe once wheezily stood. The restaurant, owned by one Claudiu Marinescu, will be railroad-themed, in homage to Hollywood’s gone-but-still-admired Red Car route, recalling similarly themed Cole’s Red Car Bar and Echo Park’s forthcoming 5 Line, among others (at least in our own infirm imaginations).
Keith promises a surfeit of al fresco space in a bastion of eco-stewardship cooking (our attempt to say “farm-to-table” again, free of the inclination to stab our own eyes out) under chef Steve Brown, a veteran of SiLa Bistro and Inn of the Seventh Ray and once a personal chef to P. Diddy. Expect organic eats, craft beer, and a contemporary cocktail program when opening day eventually arrives (Spacecraft assistant architect Cara McConnel jst began design last week).
Gardner Junction, 1451 N. Gardner St. Hollywood.
