Happy Hour at Winston Champagne Bar; NoMad Nixes $125 Tasting

• Soho’s Cafe Kristall launched a $23 two-course lunch special and a two-for-one happy hour that will run 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. [Grub Street]

• Sunburnt Calf Brooklyn will participate in the Rugged Maniac competition on Saturday, June 30, to raise money for a new playground for PS 9 in Prospect Heights. Supporters — and anybody who’s interested in seeing grown men run in calf costumes — can donate at their Facebook page. [Grub Street]

• Winston Champagne Bar will now host special “Apres Work” happy hours from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The menu includes $5 beers, $8 whites, $10 reds, cocktails and flatbreads, and $12 sparkling. • Every Sunday, guests at Maialino can now opt for a special Sunday Night Pasta Tasting Menu, which includes seasonal pastas unavailable on the regular menu, for $55 a person. A late-night pizza menu will now be available after 9 p.m., and for $12, diners get a slice of Sullivan Street Bakery’s Pizza Bianca and an AMA Bionda — a limited-edition collaboration from Brooklyn Brewery and Italian microbrewery Amarcord. • The opening-night preview of artMRKT Hamptons — a contemporary art fair hitting the beach near Bridgehampton Historical Society Grounds from July 19 to 22 — will host a summer barbecue on July 19. Chef Leon Gunn will prepare dishes like pork ribs, smoked Creekstone Black Angus beef brisket and applewood smoked beans for VIP guests. Tickets range from $20 to $100 and can be purchased here. • A Voce Madison has started serving cocktail pitchers created by wine director Olivier Flosse. The signature Primavera Pitcher is available for $79 and serves six to eight glasses. Margarita in Fuoco, Spa Limonata, Capri, and Costa D’Oro are also available in pitchers. [Grub Street]

• During the “Lunch Hour” exhibit at the New York Public Library, ‘wichcraft will offer their special triple-decked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for $3. Find the sandwiches in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on the first floor of Astor Court. [Grub Street]

• Doug Quinn, the bow-tied, well-loved bartender at P.J. Clarke’s in midtown, was apparently fired Wednesday night after a disagreement with a manager over what to do with an unruly customer. In a rather rant-y account told to Business Insider, Quinn says he briefly left the bar after the groping client was allowed to stay and was called in Thursday morning to be fired.
