We showed you the pretty pictures last week, but just to update you, Region (139 Steuart Street) is in fact opening today. The chef is Steven Lam, formerly of Fortune Wok, and the owners come from Unicorn over near Pine and Market. Expect upscale pan-Asian dishes, including their version of Peking Duck, called Beijing Duck, carved tableside. Also, there’s a bar program from Victoria D’Amato Moran, featuring twists on classics and new concoctions like the Dragon Tattoo (vodka, Strega, lime and five-spice powder). They’re now open daily for lunch and dinner, but dinner only on Sundays. [Earlier]
