It’s not Coachella, which may or may not be good news depending on your feelings towards crowds and holographic Tupacs, but Palm Springs Restaurant Week is back this Friday, June 1, ending more than a week later on June 10. This year, the big news in the area is the introduction of the Saguaro Hotel and its Jose Garces-approved restaurant Tinto, both of which will be participating with discounts on dinner and overnight stays. Also of note, this desert-spread Restaurant Week will start with a two-night “Uncorked” event that includes wine dinners held among a few established favorites like Copley’s and Las Cazuelas. Among the manifold pre-fixe menus are notable locals like BluEmber at Rancho Las Palmas, King’s Highway at Ace Hotel, and Jake’s on Palms Canyon. Sadly, Kiyosaku’s classic seafood-crammed grapefruit sees no discount, but a full list of participants and their menus can be browsed online for solace.
