The Happiest Hours on Earth

Freddy Smalls Launches Happy Hour

West L.A.’s Freddy Smalls is establishing itself as a solid late-night drinking destination that also happens to have some cutting-edge pub grub to go with its Stumbling Cowboys and Whiskey Stones. Starting tonight, Smalls begins happy hour at 5:30 P.M., offering a seven-dollar, daily-changing choice of cocktails, beer, and wine along with a scant selection of small plates, including the standout Brussels sprouts with smoked goat cheese and a grilled Belgian waffle with bacon butter and Bourbon maple syrup, available daily from Mondays to Thursdays.

Priced around three to seven dollars ($3 per Deviled egg and the sprouts just a buck less than their normal price), the food is hardly discounted enough to be your evening’s main draw. Still, the location marks an ideal spot for Westside workers making their way back east to contemplate ditching Pico’s car-jam for a quick dram. And who knows? Maybe you’ll still be here by the time Charlie Parker’s crispy pig ear sandwich emerges at 10:30 P.M. Check out Freddy Smalls’ happy hour menu below.
