This Saturday, chefs Neal Fraser, David LeFevre, and 2012’s Cochon 555 winner Ben Ford are cooking up an event in Manhattan Beach named “The Taste of Spring” to benefit GrowingGreat’s mission to teach L.A. County students about setting up school gardens and nutrition. On the evening of May 19, the chefs will conduct cooking demos using spring’s bounty, after which guests paying $200 a ticket will get to sample the end results. What will be served?

LeFevre will cook a pomegranate couscous with Marcona almonds, lavender-cured feta, and ruby grapefruit, and Fraser is due to demo a ceviche of razor clams, scallops, and rock shrimp, alongside catering from The Strand House, Mucho Ultima, and Rock’nFish, all owned by fellow Growing Great partner Michael Zislis. Swag bags, raffles, auctions, and booze are also promised, with the full menu visible below and tickets available online.
