Here’s some effortful locavore news for you: In honor of the Golden Gate Bridge’s 75th birthday this weekend, the team from Blue Bottle’s café at SFMOMA ventured out to the waters beneath the bridge to collect salt water which they then used to make a house salt to sprinkle on a “tetrahedral marshmallow hot chocolate.” The geometric marshmallow, you see, was inspired by the current Buckminster Fuller exhibit, and follows on earlier tie-ins between exhibits and the café like this cute Mondrian cake and this Matisse-inspired parfait. If you can’t make it for the festivities at the bridge on Sunday, you can always just sample some of its salt.
