Watch Chefs Make Dishes Inspired by Cartoons, Skateboarding

Last week, we talked about asparagus operas at Harvard. This week, the Boston Center for Adult Education hosts CREATE: Six Artists, Six Chefs, One Canvas. Local faves like 80 Plates winner Nookie and Storyville bon vivant/Helly Kitty fiend Louis DiBiccari will create dishes based on local artists’ work. Kevin Mabry from JM Curley and Bruno Padro from Storyville will oversee the cocktail portion of the evening. Also, the folks from Island Creek Oysters plan a “special surprise.”

The chefs have quite a challenge ahead: The roster of artists include Josh Falk, a multimedia artist who uses his background in “skateboarding, academics, and urban exploration,” and sculpting group !ND!V!DUALS, who have a special affinity for 1990s cartoons.

The event lasts all afternoon on June 3 (from 2 until 6 p.m.) at the BCAE; tix are $75. Yum yum!
