No idea if Joe Miller still has that paella concept in the works aside Bar Pinxto, but until then, a few of his local comrades are filling the void. Following Cafe del Rey’s recent foray into the dish, Eater reported that Lazy Ox chef Perfecto Rocher is bringing paella concept he recently tested to Santa Monica’s tea-abusing Tudor House in a new concept with owner Michael Cardenas, while over in West Hollywood Suzanne Goin is obsessing over paella herself at AOC.
This Thursday, Goin will hold her first paella night, with a three-course menu prepared by chef de cuisine Lauren Herman that starts with a few traditional tapas, centers on a traditional paella with chicken, chorizo, squid, and mariscos, and ending with that controversial Spanish dessert, flan, served with Spanish chocolate and almond “besos.” As an atmospheric bonus, the restaurant has hired flamenco dancers from The Arte-Flamenco Dance Theater. The pre-fixe is priced at $50 per person and the menu will be served from 6:00 to 10:00 P.M. this Thursday at A/O/C. Find the full selection below and make reservations at 323-653-6359.
