Next Sunday, May 6, a thrilling lineup of music makers, chefs, restaurants, and speakers will come together at Los Feliz’s Barnsdall Art Park for a five-hour tasting event called “Taste of the Eastside,” bringing together samples from eastern-leaning businesses from Echo Park, Highland Park, Atwater Village, East L.A., Silver Lake, and points in between.
In addition to tastings of signature dishes from celebrated restaurants like Good Girl Dinette, Canele, Little Dom’s, Yuca’s, L&E; Oyster Bar, Cliff’s Edge, Elf, and Guisado’s, the park will be packed for DJ sets from KCRW’s Garth Trinidad and seminars and cooking demos from the likes of Evan Kleiman, Jessica Koslow, Ann Kirk, and Marcos Tello, among other culinary obsessives. Golden Road and Eagle Rock breweries will be on brew duty, while the theme of localism at the forefront.
Proceeds from the $35 advance general admission tickets ($45 at the door, doesn’t include drinks) go to benefit the park itself, as well as Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, SEE-LA, and Rose Scharlin Nursery School. Ticket options that include libations and early entry VIP tickets are also available online. See the full list of participating restaurants, below.
