This week, the Original Snockey’s Oyster & Crab House, the Queen Village stalwart that was shucking oysters and serving seafood to the masses before the First World War started, celebrates its 100th anniversary. Beginning today and through the weekend, what’s recognized as on of the city’s oldest and continuously family-run restaurants, will celebrate a century in business. And to get things going, brothers Ken and Skip Snock will extend their popular, seafood centric Clammy Hours, offering discounts on shucked to order oysters, clams, shrimp and more, plus booze. Then on the actual anniversary, May 3, the Snock’s will dial back the prices on dinner platters to $19.12.
Going into the weekend, the good times will continue. On Saturday and Sunday (May 5 and 6), Snockey’s will set up a beer garden, and host several live music acts on both days, plus a live broadcast from WPRB-FM’s Professor Couch and the Rockabilly Roadhouse Radio deejays and a showing of classic cars out front.
