Starting this Saturday and planned from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. every weekend thereafter, The Lazy Ox Canteen is introducing a new brunch under its new toque, Perfecto Rocher. The Valencia native is introducing his own dishes to the Ox’s mid-morning table, including servings of tortilla Espanola with honey aioli, vanilla biscuits with smoked salmon and slow-cooked egg, compressed melon with Spanish ham (Rocher once worked at El Bulli), and slow-poached eggs with Mallorca sobrassada sausage and mashed potatoes, dishes that fall between the $11-$15 price point.
Since taking the title of exec chef at the Downtown gastro-pub last month, Rocher has steadily been putting his own stamp on the menu, with rumors that the third generation paella-maker also plans to make room for that regional specialty here, while also holding true to many of Joseph Centeno’s creations that initially made the restaurant such a draw.
