The further this push to privatize the state’s liquor stores goes, the more idiotic it gets. Seems some lawmakers in Harrisburg are back on the booze bandwagon, tweaking and tinkering with the bill put forth last summer by House Majority Leader Mike Turzai. The good news is, the political blowhards politicians weighing in on the matter this time around are finally looking beyond Pennsylvania’s 600-plus Wine and Spirits Shops, and addressing how these wacky liquor laws effect beer sales, Patriot News reports. The bad news is, it’s doubtful any real progress will be made this year — an election year — because the delicate issue of letting more than 3,500 liquor store employees go while the job market is still in the can is kind of a risky move.
