Lagunitas Brewing Company makes just about our favorite readily-available IPA on the market. The Petaluma-based company started humbly in 1993 after Tony Magee, now the CEO, tried a home-brewing kit and liked the results so much he gave one of his pale ales to his pal, Ron Lindenbush, the brewery’s current COO. The rest was history, something we hope the company’s recent special release, “Lagunitas Sucks,” is not. Next Wednesday, April 25, Lagunitas is personally bringing five of its beers to SoCal, along with rep Sam Naft, for a dinner at West Third Street’s The Churchill over a 60-seat meal prepared by Spencer Johnston. The chef will pair the brewery’s Maximus with a hot dog wrapped with house-cured bacon and Lagunitas’ pilsner with a pizza of melted gruyere, leeks, and house-cured Canadian bacon, all priced at $55 per person for five courses. The full menu is below, with reservations for one of the 60 seats available at 323-655-8384.
