A couple of updates on recent stories about chefs leaving: As we said yesterday, the big story on Bradford Phillips rejoining his former LM Restaurant employers is as much “Pump Room Loses Chef” as “LM Team Reunites.” The Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant quickly promoted sous chef Moosah Reaume to executive chef. Reaume reportedly worked for Vongerichten in New York, though the main trace he’s left on the internet is from Littleton, Colorado. And another Number Two got promoted when Jackie Shen left Chicago Cut House; newly hired chef de cuisine Rusty Kook, most recently at Cibo Matto and The Florentine, was quickly bumped up to the executive chef position. Kook surely can take the pressure, since he was a contestant on Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen. [Eater]
