Fast-food restaurants are using snob appeal to make their burgers desirable to discriminating eaters and offset the rising price of beef. Just as Wendy’s said it’s looking to push more premium-price items, Burger King has extended its Chef’s Choice brand, elevating prices to almost $5 dollars per patty and throwing around fancy ingredients like “bleu” cheese.
