Grey-haired grannies outnumbered dudes by two to one when we checked in at the Man Cave at the Philadelphia International Flower Show last night around ten after six. The room’s overstuffed reclining home cinema seating was clearly a bigger draw than the Peyton Manning press conference replay on the 100-inch projection screen in front of them. Needless to say, the vibe was neither manly nor cave-y. Across the room at the bar, a steady stream of thirsty show-goers bellied up for Hawaiian-themed cocktails, like the Big Kahuna, and Kona Brewing Co.’s Longboard Lager draughts. No one appeared to be going for the Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabfries, chicken “bites” or barbecued brisket sandwiches that sat glowing underneath heat lamps next to it.
