The new California Wine Issue of Food & Wine features, among other local stars, Oenotri chefs Tyler Rodde and Curtis di Fede in a big recipe and profile spread with some of their Southern Italian cocina povera, like their garlic cream and nettle pizza, and panelle with eggs and bottarga. But they’re not the only Bay Area stars featured prominently in the mag.

In addition to the aforementioned sommeliers at Brassica and Restaurant 1833 that get named among the best in the country, Michael Mina pops up in another dinner-party-themed recipe spread alongside wine power couple Jean-Charles Boisset and Gina Gallo. And among the picks for new places to hit while in wine country are the snazzy new Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma, and Mateo’s Cocina Latina in Healdsburg.

Comstock Saloon’s Jonny Raglin reinterprets the Sidecar in a cocktail spread on page 90. And Free Flow Wines represents for the tap-wine industry in another dinner spread toward the rear.

Also, never far from the national spotlight is Incanto chef Chris Cosentino, whose recipe for braised dandelion greens.
