Say it isn’t so…

We were saving this slideshow of Union Square’s historic, wood-paneled Gold Dust Lounge for a possible goodbye post in the next couple of weeks, given their looming March 10 eviction date. But after Willie Brown’s stern words to the landlords and the compelling words of yesterday’s lawsuit, we’re starting to think the old bar might be around for a while. So take a look anyway, and maybe stop in for a drink to show your support.

By next week or the week after we should know whether they’re getting their injunction, and whether the Handlery Hotel folks will get to demolish the place to build a CVS, or whatever.

See our slideshow to understand the Barbary Coast-meets-Deco-meets-fern-bar aesthetic of the place.
