No doubt Alla Spina, that’s Marc Vetri’s Italian gastropub that’s opening next door to Stephen Starr’s Route 6 on North Broad Street in coming weeks, has generated its fair share of buzz here at home since first announced a little more than a year ago, but now it looks like that excitement is beginning to blowup outside of the 215 area code. As a companion to Alan Richman’s pick’s for best new restaurants, GQ yesterday put forth its top picks for hot restaurant openings in 2012. Alla Spina, which beat out Stephanie Izard’s Little Goat and the porcine-preoccupied spinoff of Umami Burger, Pigg, topped the list. Better book those rezzies as soon as they start taking them, because these are going to be some tough tables to secure. [GQ]
