On Sunday afternoon, The Shade Hotel is showcasing a small group of restaurants repping The South Bay, some of which are not even owned by Michael Zislis, the Manhattan Beach hospitality magnate who owns Shade and a slew of eateries like Rock ‘n Brews and Mucho Ultima Meixcano. Newcomers like David LeFevre’s celebrated MB Post and The Strand House are currently confirmed for the event, called Taste of the South Bay, along with neighborhood favorites like Tin Roof Bistro, Darren’s, and Hot’s Kitchen.

The tasting sesh is being held over three hours, with $60 tickets that benefit the Kings Care Foundation, which aids youth education programs. To that end, players from The L.A. Kings hockey team are promised to be in attendance, shoulder-checking you on the way to the last slider.

So far, the list of seventeen currently confirmed restaurants, mostly from Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches, isn’t nearly representative of the panoply of varied eating options throughout the entire South Bay, but does offers a quick highlight reel of some beach-bound flavors. See the full list of confirmed restaurants below and get tickets over on The King’s website.
