
First sold on March 6, 1912, the Oreo is celebrating its 100th birthday next week with a huge, blowout marketing campaign focused on nostalgia and new-age media. More interesting, the Times has some of the history including the first Oreo exchange ever, which took place in Hoboken, and the thinking behind the “twist, lick and dunk” ritual. In the meantime, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, that spring chicken, is only turning 75. [NYT]
