The time has almost arrived to summon your inner Dude (or Donny), lace up your bowling shoes, and bowl a few spares at Lucky Strike Lanes (200 King Street at 4th). The opening is set for March 9, and today Grub Street learns that Giants pitcher, Lebowski fan, and avid dyed-beard enthusiast Brian Wilson has been brought in as an owner/partner. They’re even renaming Lane 12 as Lane 38, for his jersey number. Says Wilson, via press release, “I am pumped to be in the Lucky Strike mix … See you there.” Also, he adds, “The Dude abides.”

The SoCal-spawned bowling-and-drinking chain has had a number of celebrity endorsements and partners as part of their marketing strategy, and their Hollywood location boasts of having hosted S.F. resident Robin Williams, as well as Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber. Also, they got name-checked on Entourage. (But, Robin Williams!)

Lucky Strike will be only the second existing public bowling alley in town, and the only one that’s not way the hell out in the Presidio (Serra Bowl in Daly City is actually easier to get to), so expect it to be a pretty big crowd draw to the South Beach/AT&T; Park area as soon as it opens.

And expect Lane 38 to be reserved for bro birthday parties well into 2013.
