Food & Wine wants your vote for The People’s Best New Pastry Chef. They’ve got 50 candidates, divided by region, and not too surprisingly, Chicago dominates the middle of the country, with no fewer than five of our local dessert stars among the candidates: Bryce Caron of Blackbird, Patrick Fahy of Café des Architectes (who used to be at Blackbird, incidentally), Aya Fukai of Ria, Meg Galus of NoMI Kitchen (who used to be at Café des Architectes), and Sarah Jordan of GT Fish & Oyster, who used to be at… wait for it… Blackbird.
